James Gunn has shared a fresh look at the upcoming Pacifier cast of the series. The director / writer is clearly having a good time with the cast and crew of The suicide squad spin-off while filming continues in Vancouver, Canada. Gunn and Warner Bros. chose to work in Canada rather than the United States because of their handling of the public health crisis, which the director believes is superior. Filming only began last month and is expected to continue until at least June as long as things continue to run smoothly behind the scenes.

A DC fan tweeted James Gunn to see if they were working on action or drama scenes, to which the director replied, “Today? Both!” The director has been having a lot of fun being able to work with these DC characters and interact with fans on social media, which is something he has always loved to do. With production in the Pacifier The series is expected to last a few more months, it is believed that it will premiere in January 2022.

As for The suicide squad, the film is still on the way to hit theaters in August. Warner Bros. plans to release the film on HBO Max simultaneously, although theaters have been predicted to be open by then. Obviously, that could change at any time, but for now, the studio seems to be confident in its release strategy for all of its 2021 films. As for whether or not Pacifier is a prequel series, James Gunn hasn’t said, which means we’ll probably have to see how The suicide squad ends this summer to solve everything.

James Gunn wrote the Pacifier series while completing work on The suicide squad during the pandemic. HBO Max ordered it directly from the series in September 2020, and Gunn also directed several episodes, including the first episode. Gunn has said that the series was an opportunity to explore current world problems through the main character John Cena.
