In an interview, Joe Black revealed his reasons for wearing the H&M dress that led to RuPaul screaming in season 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

Joe Black is revealing why they wore the now infamous H&M dress that got them in trouble with RuPaul in RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 2. After becoming the first eliminated queen of the season, Joe was voted in by his teammates to return to the competition. Fans were very happy to see this veteran drag artist get another chance to snatch the crown, and Joe Black left it all on stage. Unfortunately, Joe was sent home once more at the end of the episode, but not before being a part of one of the most iconic moments in RuPaul’s Drag Race his story.

In an interview with Screen rant, Joe Black spoke about the reasons behind wearing an H&M dress that even the queen initially called “basic.” Joe started, “As for me, my Drag Race journey was over. I left and then production closed. I was just waiting for them to resume filming so I could finish, so we could shoot the promo and all that.” So when Joe got a call three weeks before production was to resume with an invite to possibly return to competition, things got more complicated than one might imagine: “At this point, I had sold some of my gateways, because I was not going to need them, because I was not going back to Drag Race! Half was in storage, the other half was sold out. I had sold something to pay the rent.” .

Joe Black then talked about being on the receiving end of what is now one of the most iconic RuPaul moments in the history of the Endurance race franchise. Plot Twist: Joe loved being a part of it! Joe explained, “Oh that was it! I didn’t realize that such a simple dress could arouse such deep and raw emotions in someone! Seeing that experience, I thought, ‘Ooh, this is a very dramatic episode of Drag Race, isn’t it? ? ‘ Right? And then I realized that I I am in that dramatic episode of Drag Race! “ As to whether Joe would try to do something else to change his fate in Endurance race… that doesn’t seem to be the case here. “People keep saying, ‘Would you do something different?’ And I think it was a pretty strong reaction. I think I’d be doing a disservice by doing something different. Now I have my own Tyra Banks moment. “ Joe said with a laugh.

However, Joe Black does not believe that the episode would have had a different outcome if they had insisted on using something else: “This is the ‘curse of the returning queen,’ right? I think whatever happened, I probably would have gone home. And to be completely fair to everyone else, they had been through episodes one, two, three. and four. If I had come back and someone else had gone before me, I would feel terrible. “ All things considered, this legendary drag artist is very happy about the time he spent on the show.

For now, fans can follow Joe Black on Instagram and in Twitter. Joe also has Patreon with exclusive content of drag and cabaret.
